| Mount journal | An older shardhide, Darkmaul was relatively tame and friendly around Korthians. He was thought lost to the calamity. |
| Options | None: the price is fixed |
His journal entry remembers him as an aging shardhide, quite gentle and friendly with the Korthians, who was believed to have been lost in the calamity. He turned up again with Shadowlands patch 9.1, and the way to make him yours runs through his stomach.
What Darkmaul wants is Tasty Mawshrooms. They hide inside Invasive Mawshroom treasures around Korthia, but rarely, and plenty of those treasures hold no mushroom at all. Each treasure resets daily and its contents are random, so gathering ten takes a while.
Each mushroom you give Darkmaul grants the Friendly Ride buff for a short time, enough to take him for a brief spin. The tenth offering makes it permanent, and he is added to your mount collection. With the mushrooms already in your bags, the feeding goes quickly.
Darkmaul is a fixed-price order here, with nothing to configure, so the daily mushroom hunt becomes our job instead of yours. He stays on the ground, with crystal spikes lining his back.
Collecting Shadowlands mounts? The Hand of Salaranga also belongs to Korthia and the Maw, the Bound Shadehound comes out of a Maw rune puzzle, and our mount catalog lists many more.
He sleeps in Korthia, a short way west of Mauler's Outlook.
Ten. The tenth offering adds him to your mount collection.
Korthia's Invasive Mawshroom treasures. Only some of them hold a Tasty Mawshroom, so expect plenty of empty ones.
A shardhide with a row of crystal spikes on its back. He is a ground mount, so no flying.
