Less than you might remember. The mechagnomes used to sit behind Exalted standing with the Rustbolt Resistance and the achievement The Mechagonian Threat, a long grind on Mechagon. Patch 10.1.5 dropped both. Now an Alliance character at level 40 can start the chain, and finishing the recruitment once covers the whole account.
That last turn-in awards the Mechagon Mechanostrider and opens mechagnomes for character creation.
The mount journal reads like a mechagnome's sales pitch: the ideal mount does more than one job, getting you somewhere and then letting you reach something high up once you arrive. In practice the walker stays on the ground.
Nothing needs choosing, and the price stays fixed. A booster we assign plays the questline on your Alliance character, start to finish. If you are collecting allied race mounts, the Starcursed Voidstrider is the void elf counterpart on the Alliance side, and our mounts section lists the rest.
Propagate the News, the closing quest of the mechagnome recruitment, handed in to Aysa Cloudsinger in Stormwind.
No, it is optional. The recruitment really starts with Waning Energy from Kelsey Steelspark at the Stormwind Embassy.
Not since patch 10.1.5. An Alliance character of level 40 can start the chain.
No. The Mechanostrider is an Alliance mount.
No, it only moves on the ground.
